Prostate Cancer Patients May Have a Break in Chemotherapy
March 1st, 2008 Posted in prostate chemotherapyA study at the Oregon Health & Science University Cancer Institute concluded that some men with advanced prostate cancer can safely take a break from chemotherapy. this new finding is a big hope for prostate cancer patients because the drug can cause side effects such as hair loss, nausea, loss of appetite and increased risk of infection. A break in the chemotherapy regimen offers patients a much-needed pause from such side effects, but it wasn’t known if temporarily halting chemotherapy would lead to treatment resistance
The study was published in a recent issue of Cancer.
